Other sections of this website relate the history and many of the activities of The Cliff Dwellers club and its members. It’s appropriate, then, to visually present to viewers of this website the appearance of its home since 1996—only the second location since the 1907 founding. The captioned slide show of almost two dozen images includes various rooms of the club house itself, located at the top of a downtown Chicago office building and, in addition, presents a sampling of the terrace views. The photos were supplied by several Cliff Dwellers and your guide is a club member whose brief commentary is matched to the specific scenes. Depending on the browser you use, you may view the images within your browser or download the file for viewing at your convenience. You will need to utilize Adobe® Reader (ver. 7 or later) or an equivalent program that can open .pdf files. The virtual tour is approximately 8.5MB in size in the audio version. If you use Internet Explorer (ver. 6.0 or later) or Firefox (ver 2.0 or later) as a browser and have Windows multi-media player installed, you can listen to the commentary synchronized with the slide show directly at the website via a broadband connection. Click on the title image above to begin and use the keyboard arrow keys to move from image to image. Allow a few moments for the first slide to appear, after which the commentary will be heard. Alternatively, and especially for users without a broadband connection or lacking a compatible audio player, you can view the slide show in a smaller-image format as an album which includes printed captions attached to the photos.
